No problem! If you decide to try the game I hope you enjoy it!

Yeah that’s a good way to think of it

It is a visual novel only in the sense that it is a story focused game and the gameplay loop consists of characters speaking and you (the player) choosing dialog responses and choices that drive the game forward. It is not in any way like the visual novels that are anime relationship simulators which most people think of when they hear the term visual novel.

It’s a very thoughtful indie game that sets a narrow scope for itself and then thoroughly explores that space with a bunch of crazy ideas. And the voice actors do a great job bringing life to those ideas with a very dynamic performance that’s really the star of the show.

You can get a very good sense of what the game is going for in about 1-3 hours and you can see the whole game in about ten (not including the new stuff, I haven’t played any of that yet).

Checkout Keychron’s k series. They’re both wireless and wired as well as both Mac and windows, just flip two small switches on the side to change the behavior. I have a k2 myself, but you may prefer the k4 which is a larger layout. It’s basically the perfect keyboard for supporting what you’re talking about

No, if there’s no stated difference for upcasting then there’s no reason to do so

Yes! The companions are so good that for the first time in a game like this I could decide on a core party for my first play through. I’ve always been able to eliminate a lot of characters as boring or not my speed, but not in this game. I got as far as the crèche in act 1.5 before I got too frustrated with it and installed a party size mod so I can just bring them all with me

Oh yeah, sorry I should have been more clear that I mean no paid dlc

If it helps none of Larian Studios’s games have had dlc and they’ve continued to support them long after release with major and minor content patches and updates. No company is ever fully above scrutiny and things can always change, but they really do mean it and they’ve been practicing what they preach for years.
