I'm giving palliative care to my 14 year old hound. His appetite is still good and he's mobile, but this is one of the hardest times in my adult life, even though I've been preparing myself, knowing that his breed's life expectancy is around twelve years. Last time I had to put a pet down was a ~~car~~ cat I kept for 15 years and that sucked too, but it's been a long time since then.

Every single authoritarian in history has fallen out faded away. Every single one. Will you and/or I see it? Probably not, although I hope that we are close to a cusp in history. The pendulum has been artificially pushed to the right, the current status has been built on lies and deceit - it can't be sustained.

But we all know he doesn't really mean it or will do anything with them.

They didn't know they built it before they found that they built it, it was a surprise to them. It's pretty clear.

I'm a loner and some years ago, I was in the Grand Canyon and I was setting up a camera on a timer to take a selfie. This guy and his family saw me and I over heard the dad sadly exclaim "aww" at me and then offer to take the picture for me. After he took the picture, I had a real hard time holding back years because the "aww" was clearly an expression of pity. Even as I write this, I'm tearing up.

I've also had two episodes of SP but I didn't know what they were until after the first one, which was a generic old "witch" sitting on my chest. However, by the time I got the second one I had read up enough about it that I thought it wouldn't be so bad - nope, it was just as terrifying of not more so because I knew what was happening and couldn't really do anything about it

I didn't find it that scary but based on it's popularity, I went to see the stage production in London - it was awful and pretty much all the "horror" relied on jump scares with loud music/noise stings.

If we don't know what's coming, we don't have to prepare for it. Profit.

It's ok. USA is bringing coal back! If the destruction is accelerated, we won't have to worry about it anymore. Win, win.

You confuse history with karma. Authoritarians don't outlast humanity. The "real world" bends in centuries, not decades. Your attempt at an argument is myopic and unsophisticated.

Republican reality is artificial and unsustainable. It will take a long time but fascists always lose in the end.
