Oh what do you know, it’s the democrats fall guys up to no good as usual. There’s always a fall guy. How convenient.

I got banned from world for similar. Also got banned for stating a fact: democrat joe Lieberman single-handedly killed the single payer option during the passage of obamacare/aca.

The libs can’t cope.

Edit for the libs:

A senator from Connecticut, the insurance capital of the world, became the industry’s go-to guy. Insurers had spent years investing in Sen. Joe Lieberman, a former Democrat-turned-Independent. During the reform debate, the watchdog group Public Campaign Action Fund, (now called EveryVoice), called Lieberman an “insurance puppet,”noting that insurers had contributed nearly half a million dollars to his campaigns over the years.

The Democrats needed Lieberman’s vote to get reform passed, and insurers knew it. Shortly before the Senate was set to vote on the bill, Lieberman said he would vote for the bill only if the public option was stripped out.

Cope and seethe libs. Your electoralism and ability to be easily fooled by the DNC’s lies but but republicans! have led us to this mess. And yes, it goes without saying the republicans are no better. But who needs enemies when one has backstabbing democrats for friends? But if we vote harder we’ll have the votes! no, you fucking won’t. Another fucking patsy will make sure to torpedo any kind of progressive legislation, anything to the left of neoliberalism. See Manchin, Sinema, and the fucking senate parliamentarian for examples.

I’m assuming “here” is somewhere other than USA. Your system sounds better for protecting the integrity of court proceedings…

It’s probably not legal but also ignored by those who enforce the laws

Of the three, state.

This question has come up before with this map, and I answered it under my (since banned) lemmy world account.

I believe it has to do with elevation and physical activity. Somebody in the prior near identical thread posted a county level map and it seemed to correlate with mountains and cities. Mountains have elevation and cities involve more walking.

It also shows how convoluted and busy work the system is, how many utterly pointless jobs involved.

Oh! That reminds me of another thanksgiving, involving my ex, a good friend down on their luck, my landlord and his family who lived upstairs and were throwing a party with their friends (I’ve lived in the same place for almost a decade, we’ve become good friends over the years) that we came up and visited for a bit.

Anyway:

That year, I learned how to infuse sugar with weed (happy to DM you how it’s so simple it’s stupid). I decided to make homemade BBQ sauce with said infused sugar. Vegetarian. Cooked homemade Mac and cheese which is then baked in a casserole, and decided to try to incorporate BBQ pulled jackfruit (think pulled pork) into the Mac and cheese casserole.

Ex, myself, good friend down on their luck are all stoners. We enjoy the Mac and cheese together in my kitchen, leaving about half of the casserole for leftovers. I think my landlord came down for a couple bites of it too. I also baked infused brownies and we headed upstairs with them.

The Mac and cheese hit us all at once. Omfg we were so high. We’re all in the hallway of my landlords place and we just burst out laughing so hard we’re crying. This shit is goooood.

Party guests who consumed the brownies talked about it for years after. Apparently those were good too - I don’t even think I had one because I was more than high enough from dinner.

Cool thing about weed infused sugar: you can make cocktails with it. Highly recommend a mojito 😆

Denying healthcare is violence. Just because there’s layers of paper pushers in between the patient and the corporation denying care doesn’t change things.

Engels said it best:

When one individual inflicts bodily injury upon another such that death results, we call the deed manslaughter; when the assailant knew in advance that the injury would be fatal, we call his deed murder. But when society places hundreds of proletarians in such a position that they inevitably meet a too early and an unnatural death, one which is quite as much a death by violence as that by the sword or bullet; when it deprives thousands of the necessaries of life, places them under conditions in which they cannot live – forces them, through the strong arm of the law, to remain in such conditions until that death ensues which is the inevitable consequence – knows that these thousands of victims must perish, and yet permits these conditions to remain, its deed is murder just as surely as the deed of the single individual; disguised, malicious murder, murder against which none can defend himself, which does not seem what it is, because no man sees the murderer, because the death of the victim seems a natural one, since the offence is more one of omission than of commission. But murder it remains.
