It’s nothing fancy. I recently switched to an undercoat of Vallejo Game Color Sick Green direct on the model then 1-2 layers of Warpstone Glow. Edge highlights are Moot Green.

I was using the standard GW method of Warpstone over Caliban but I found it to be a pain b/c it took 3+ layers of Warpstone to get no streaks and it came out kind of dark.

Necrons WIP (lemmy.world)

Starting my Necrons with the KT box. I wasn’t sure about the color scheme till I painted the blue lines which made it come alive.

Still not sure what to paint the bases other than black to get a good contrast. Open to any ideas.

This was a limited release a few years ago. Glad it’s getting a wider release with new features.

Depends on the role and company you’re applying for but I’d say if you’re going for something entry level or if you have no experience they help.

I know some helpdesk places near me require A+, NET+, and SEC+ at hire or within the first 6 months. Whereas I’m a small business IT manager and I look at those certs as bonuses for entry or mid level positions. I’m way more interested in your work experience than how many certs you have.

The only qualification for the job they need to have is loyalty. Everything else is irrelevant to Trump and the GOP at this point.

Last time he tried having competent and experienced people in positions of power and they told him no on certain things.

They WANT the govt. to be broken so they have an excuse to go full christofascist dictator.

ALM MFX Pedal (www.youtube.com)

Looks like ALM is getting in on the guitar pedal game. They're a Eurorack module manufacturer that makes some of the best modules on the market. This is a pedal version of their effects module.

All of them and none of them. Schrodingers Custodian.

Female custodians are fine. It doesn’t matter.

Finished up the old Custodes CP earlier this week. Goonhammer has a really good guide on how to do the Shadowkeepers color scheme that taught me a few other nice techniques.

Going to be picking up the new CP box in the next month or two when it's available again.

Big bug (lemmy.world)

Tyrannofex I finished last week with the big fuck off gun.

New version of this pedal that includes the presets knob from Aurelius/Ledges and EXP control.

I have the V2 version of this pedal and EXP control is a huge plus as it let's you use it like a regular wah. Or you can assign it to one of the other knobs. Looks like they changed how the filter knob functions (or at least labeled it).

I mostly use my V2 on Bass and it's pretty good for the funk but it can scream if you use it on distorted guitar.

So no more spewing hate speech disguised as “free speech” and inciting violence on Facebook and Twitter right? Right?

Fuck this asshole. Few people have done as much damage as he has and the worst part is we’re only going to get someone worse.

The bottom line is if you don’t like how it sounds or feels then return it.

Now if you want advice:

You talk about the “tele sound” a lot. Could you be more specific about what that means to you? Telecasters can basically do any genre, they’re very versatile. I think you’ll be fine if you keep it.

You’re also a beginner. If you’re not playing in a band I don’t think it’ll matter too much which guitar you have. Think of it as learning what you like and don’t like.

You should tune your guitar. Not only is it good to train your ears but your guitar is designed to have strings on it that are in tune. Leaving the strings too loose might cause the neck to bend in undesirable ways. Especially if you’re in an area where the temperature changes each season.

Also, you’re not going to break strings from getting it in tune unless you go several steps above the intended note. Learning what an in tune string sounds like will help you avoid that.

Honestly if you picked up a guitar that felt good to play that’s in your price range just buy it dude. I have a few Mexican and American fenders and love them all. Can’t go wrong with a PRS either, you might find one with coil tapping that will get you more tonal options.
