I'm afraid of another Trump presidency, too, but no group in America is facing genocide if Trump is elected. There may even be life and death consequences, but don't create a false equivalency with an actual genocide.

Yes, but worse than populism is being hellbent on evil like Biden is on Gaza

Yes, I hope it will prevent the next genocide by demonstrating that we Americans do in fact give a damn about war crimes and atrocities.

You're right to key in on the distinction between words and action. Biden is actively supporting a genocide, and what Ukraine has suffered pales in comparison to what Gaza is enduring.

They weren't protesting the treatment of Palestinians:

Israeli Jews, however, seem unperturbed by the scale of the suffering, if the polls are any indication. One of the questions in the Tel Aviv University poll deals with the amount of force the Israeli army is using in Gaza. Less than 2 percent of the respondents said they believed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was using too much firepower. Perhaps even more horrifyingly, nearly 58 percent said they were using too little firepower.

Nah, fuck Israel. Israel was founded on ethnic cleansing and has continued the ethnic cleansing to this day. They won't stop until Palestinians only exist as a people in exile.

Fuck America, too. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Veitnam, Iraq, Nicaragua, Guatamala, Indonesia, now Palestine. American democracy has run on blood since the slaughter of Native Americans in its infancy.

Much of the aid to Egypt served to buy Egypt's tolerance of Israel, so really you could argue it was an indirect subsidy of Israel.

But they're right that the word "settler" connotes "an image of somebody taking previously useless land" for the average reader. It's due to ignorance of the grim reality of our history, but it's nonetheless true.

It shows how little some people value the lives of brown people on another continent. How many people would have to die before they'd consider foregoing their mocha latte?
