There is never one that is the "best". You just have to choose one based on what fits you and your view point.
There are many places that list DNS providers: DNSCrypt, Privacy Guides, and Privacy Raccoon are just some.

There's nothing on the Lavabit website (or elsewhere that I could reliably confirm) that say they (Lavabit) have a VPN. I could always be cautious when using a new VPN (including one that is free) or one that isn't listed on the company website.
Deleted my account & the 3rd party app on my phone. I'm only checking select subreddits through Libreddit (until it stops working).
To get more people to see their posts, some people on LinkedIn follow hashtags and by including a hashtag, that post ha a better chance at being seen by more people.
Not using my real name on any social media profiles except LinkedIn (so potential employers don't think I'm weird), posting at random times of the day, commenting on something not related to the country where I live, using email alias (and multiple ones), never posting a picture of my real face.
