I understand these worker's plight, but won't somebody think of the investors?
How are they supposed to make more money sitting on their ass if the company is squandering it all on "wages" and "benefits"?

Because it's unsustainable and actively degenerates everything in its environment in pursuit of an insatiable need for capital growth.
Saying capitalism isn't that bad is like saying early stage cancer isn't that bad. It doesn't change the nature of the cancer and what it will become unabated.
Exactly, we can boil it down to the crux of the issue:
Capitalism is a death cult that will destroy lives, communities, and the very planet.
Capitalism is an existential threat to the human race
