One of the beautiful things about Metroid games is their replay value. So I'm curious, which game have you replayed the most?

For me it's Dread (played 135 hours eheh)

Nice video, cool ROM hack

For me it would the ability to absorb an enemy thanks to new "Metroid power" acquired in Dread. Maybe after you parry an enemy or after locking it with the grapple beam. It would expand on the melee combat and be awesome.

I don't even know if the admin would allow that, but do you think if could be worth it to let the subreddit know there is an alternative in the fediverse?

No mainline games, no Prime games, not even remakes or reboots of older games. A completely new Metroid spin-off. It could have the same gameplay with different characters and location or we could see Samus in a whole different game. Pinball demonstrates that the possibilities are endless.

So, which is your wildest Metroid dream?

If you choose to play one, you will never be able to play the other. If you don't choose you'll never play a Metroid game again. What is you answer?

Hi all!

I'm a huge (if recent) Metroid fan. I discovered the franchise a few years ago with Fusion and right about that time Dread was announced so I was instantly hooked. If you're here, you probably know the rest. Since I left that other platrform I sorely miss my daily metroid fix and since there was no metroid community (that I could find at least) on lemmy I decided to create one!

There are no specific rule regarding the content of the posts other than they have to be metroid related (duh), but there are rules about the way we interact with each other. Basically just the stuff that makes you a decent human being: no homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, ableism, etc..

Just be nice to each other and build a great community.

Let's begin

(save station sound)

Basically the title, one of the things I will miss the most ok Reddit will be r/metroid and it doesn't look like there anything similar in the Fediverse. Prove me wrong?

Pretty self-explanatory but the idea is to combine the "share" logo with the crossbones. The message is peers 2 peers, from many to many, sharing is caring, but the deisgn still recalls the awesome pirate flag.
