It means that there was a sudden increase from several thousand users over a year or so to 2 million users in a month. Doesn't mean lemmy started 2 months ago. Just became more popular.

There's an android app. I think you have to download it from their website rather than the play store cos it is in beta.
Its currently available through the artemis.camp instance. I'm writing this with the Artemis app using the API. I believe Ernest had some personal stuff happening so the process to merge into the main instance is still ongoing.

Shooting someone is not the only harm that can happen. There are countless assaults (domestic, sexual, verbal, etc) every year that occur due to extremism such as being an "incel". Also you sound paranoid and have offered no evidence what you say is true. If you really are being spied on by the government the only way to stop that is to destroy your electronic devices (drill holes in the harddrives), move as far as you can (preferably russia or china), and never post publicly on the internet again.
And even if you had the source code it may not necessarily qualify as open source.

Because someone can just host a CP instance and now that instance even if defederated from other instances still provides a safe space for pedophiles to share content and other illegal stuff.
If someone it stupid enough to publicly host CP on their own instance then I very much doubt they would be able to hide from the cops. If they are privately hosting illegal content then I don't think it really matters what software they are using.
