compression with surround isn't really the issue. it's that the newer dolby/DTS stuff needs more bandwidth. imo, 2.1 is more than enough for 95% of pc users.

they are able to, many FM stations support RDS to serve data. ever been ina car that told you the song playing on the radio or the station's name? yeah thats RDS.

It's just perception. It's the some bullshit logic why sale taxes are not included in the price and calculated at purchase.... makes the product seem cheaper than it actually is.
Fury road had a lot of practical effects though. Obviously there's still a lot of cgi of shots that is either impossible to do for real, or to enhance the effects and the scene, but almost all the action was all done the same way the originals were done in the 80s.
