I don't blame you for taking that decision. But it's sad that this will deter legitimate users away, some of whom would've signed up otherwise.

Lemmy is just reddit refugees and the FOSS nerds. This place needs more people.

I think he means that your average person at a bar would be in his 20's, so if you subtract 15 years you'd just end up as a child or teenager. You'd have to be at least 33 years old for it to be a story about adults.

That's an extremely narrow view point I'd say. In my country the government promotes the growth of existing big corporations so that there can be more jobs and infrastructure development - but this has in the end lead to a widening of gap and has essentially only made the rich even richer.

I genuinely believe promoting start ups is better for the middle class than big corporations, as usually startups pay a crazy amount of money if you ask for it compared to what a big rich corpo would give you (ironically).

Actually they tried the normal way, where they didn't shoot and asked the poachers to surrender / tried to arrest them. But the rangers would get shot and the animals would continue to get poached.

Seeing this as a problem, a new executive order / law was passed allowing shoot at sight orders at national parks / protected zones.

Poaching has reduced, the number of rangers getting shot has reduced. The number of poachers getting shot has reduced (they don't wanna fuck around anymore).

Overall it has increased peace.

Yes, this is why financial crimes and financial crime laws don't exist in rich countries!! Oh...

Not a single phone has released their proprietory camera driver blobs in recent history. I wish that would happen. There will always be a loss of image quality in custom roms which don't use the stock version on the phone.

Pretty sure it's satire. A country that made Ninja assassin's surely can't have such concepts.

What's this petition supposed to do at all? Only a lawyer can get the criminal prosecution dismissed by filing and arguing in court....

India isn't, it's a 3 trillion economy for a billion plus people. Per capita that's very low. India recently did a lot of expeditions to try and find oil but had no luck. There are a lot of spices (which were just stolen for years by colonial powers) but the value of those has reduced compared to newer technologies like semiconductors.

China has just become rich recently, there should be a decline / easing of pressure on people in the next few years / decades.

Pretty much. Look at how India and China have people who overwork and overstudy. Meanwhile many western countries have a good work life balance and have a lower / easier standard in education because they don't need to do much to survive.

Boost for reddit is still working so I still go there. Many subs are fighting, including /r/noncredibledefense. There are a lot of subs going NSFW but reddit is forcing them to go back to being SFW. /r/NCD is genuinely NSFW at times so i'm not sure what will happen to them. Once Boost for Lemmy comes out, i'm hopping onto lemmy fulltime :)
