Dang, this is disappointing. I lived in the Ashe county, NC area for about ten years and cannot get ahold of anyone... I think their access to the closest town (mtn city TN) may be cut off with how steep those roads are. The news videos are all about Blowing Rock and Boone. Be safe! Lot of landslide potential.

Schrodinger's voter?

You are welcome to provide a more apt analogy; mine works fine. @cheese_greater@lemmy.world caught the gist, you may be stuck in the mist?

Ukraine may be in rough shape, but no real fire fighter would stop trying to put out a fire at a burning house. There is always something to save.

Maybe to add to this, there may be folks like me who initially joined on things that became problematic or we wanted something "better" and are now on something different, leading to doubles. Not sure if my older accounts (like kbin) would show up but they might.

This is clearly anti-democratic and unlikely to have any actual effect on the election outside making Democrats look bad.

No. If it reflects negatively on anyone it would be the Nevada and US courts, the Nevada official who handed out the paperwork, and of course the Stein operation for not catching it. The last two have the capacity to catch this. Not the Democratic party.

And that is followed by

Across the country, a network of Republican political operatives, lawyers and their allies is trying to shape November’s election in ways that favor Trump. Their goal is to prop up third-party candidates, including Stein and Cornel West who offer liberal voters an alternative that could siphon away support from Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee.

Not Democratic party malfeasance.

Does your context help explain this? I grew up with The Far Side but sounds like I am 10+ years behind you and this flew over my head like, well, not an ostrich...

This seems like it could lead to significant innovation in vans in North America, or set least US/Canada. Van pickups, van sedans, van Goghs? After the initial temper tantrums, I think people will buy whatever comes out of the design phase. There used to be a lot of "beef" about emission control devices, but not so much anymore. Those folks moved on.

chicken tenders

metal and bone

😬 I don't understand how these four thought this could work.

I like the extra noise. Not that I need cover or anything.
