i remember everyone sharing files (mostly movies) via usb in my IT class, in vocational school. a lot of people came to me because i had all the episodes of samurai jack (it wasnt remastered yet, so getting the full series was difficult). that was half a decade ago though, and i haven't had a reason to do it since </3

idk if theyll be suitable for your situation, but here's some native ohio fruits im aware of:

  • definitely seconding the pawpaw trees! the fruit tastes so good and im looking on getting some trees myself
  • diospyros virginiana (american persimmon)
  • amelanchier arborea (common serviceberry) and amelanchier canadensis (canadian serviceberry)
  • prunus virginiana (chokecherry)
  • prunus pensylvanica (pin cherry) is another native cherry, but probably has the same issues black cherries give you

(the ohio pawpaw festival is coming up this weekend btw! theres always people selling not just pawpaw fruits, but pawpaw trees and other native plants there.)

nausicaä and the valley of the wind. environmentalism shows up a lot in miyazaki's work, but nausicaä is the most direct about it and aligns with solarpunk in its messaging and themes.

according to this, the groups that protested were not just the air force association and american legion (which both lobby on behalf of veterans), but also individual WWII veterans from around the country.

as the grandchild of a (now deceased) nagasaki survivor, i have heard this rhetoric from not just veterans, but their children and grandchildren as well. in my experience interacting with them (irl, not online), i have never heard a single one criticize the atomic bombs, ever. that's just my experience, though.

thank you- i will forward this along.

sorry if this doesn't count as "gardening"--i dont know any better active communities to post this question in. i also searched google/ddg but the results felt like SEO spam to me.

someone i know planted a yoshino cherry tree last year. this is its second year, and it's growing very well without any problems. what we were wondering about is there's a lone branch right at the bottom of the trunk--does it need to be pruned off in the winter/spring or anything like that? it makes the rest of the tree look strange, but neither of us have much experience with growing trees, let alone ornamental ones.

any other advice is also appreciated :) thanks.
