Uuuuh. There are only a couple lagrange points, unlike the massive amount of normal satellite paths available in LEO and HEO.

We absolutely should not allow any single actor (apart from the UN, maybe) to lay claim to the precious lagrange real estate

It's very misleading to say that "Cuba is keeping itself isolated". Each year the UN votes to end the embargo/isolation imposed on Cuba by the US, with the vast majority of countries voting in favour of ending the blockade each time.

In the latest vote, in November, only Israel and USA voted against ending the blockade. Ukraine abstained. 187 member states voted in favour of ending the blockade

Make no mistake, the US is what has kept Cuba unjustly isolated for the past decades. Source: https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/11/1143112

The US sees anything that could shake their narrative of the world as a threat, even when that 'threat' is unfounded, and they massively abuse their economic and military power around the globe to keep others in line.

Hey Jeff, it's a good idea to scrub the timestamp parameter (?t=160) from any video links like that to avoid the video starting at the end, like here :)

Do you have a union at your workplace? Please consider striking in solidarity with the striking IFF workers.

Is IFF employing union-busting tactics? If so, do unionized workers elsewhere have the legal right to refuse working with IFF, even without joining in a sympathy strike? (This is the case in Norway, but I'm no US expert)

Yeah, when I first got into Linux and FOSS I'd read their articles to get oriented. Even followed them on Mastodon. For a time, the articles and content were good, but after a while I noticed a decline in quality and more talk about proprietary things.

Nowadays, I've muted ItsFOSS on Mastodon and actively avoid reading their articles, because they run so many paid placements and low quality stories with non-free things placed front-and-center.

Glad I'm not the only one of this opinion. Let's hope ItsFOSS changes

Hurray! Now we just need the majority of other states, too. It's certainly a step towards a brighter future

You can download configuration files (wireguard preferably) from your protonvpn account in a web browser.

Open the network manager (idk what steam mode uses, this should work in desktop mode) and add a wireguard connection.

Add the private key, add the peer and its public key, add the dns. Save.

When you need it, simply connect to it like a regular network, in addition to your wifi of course.

This has served me well on Fedora Atomic workstation with KDE for years :)

Great post! I've often used low cost as an argument for choosing open source software in my [IRL] communities, as the other advantages aren't that successful when talking to people on a personal level. This post elaborates on those other advantages in a convincing way.

So sad seeing people hurt others who're just trying to get their fair share and make a slightly better life for themselves and their family

I'm norwegian and I support this message. We grew our riches by extracting luxurious poison from the earth, intoxicating the world. It's time for rehab

I've had four cases that I know of, and three vaccines. Struggling with serious brain fog, though not sure covid is the cause
