If you're gaining heat from the winter sun you're likely losing more heat than you're gaining from poor insulation.

3000CFM is probably too much. Your exhaust needs to match your soffit intake in terms of how much air they move. You can't just exhaust air without replacing that air. Find a roofing contractor and not a handy man. If you're forcing 3000CFM out and your soffit vents combined allow for 1000CFM, there are still 2000CFM that need to come from somewhere and it could start coming from your conditioned space through air leaks from things like light fixtures and drywall gaps.

It sounds like you're wanting to vent the attic to cool the house? If so, insulation is your best bet. Yes it may also prevent you from gaining heat in the winter from the sun, but it will also keep the heat from your HVAC inside which is way more efficient than relying on an insignificant amount of heat from a winter sun. We recently increased our insulation to R50 and it has helped lower our bills and equal out the temperature of the house

That seems like a huge hassle for something completely unnecessary

Should be an easy fix. You need snow guards. I'm surprised whoever put the roof on didn't install them. You should probably have them anywhere that people walk below the roof line as a safety measure. They will hold back the snow and then as it melts it will run into the gutter you need to install. There are lots of different kinds but I would avoid plastic ones or ones that secure only by an adhesive. Depending on the slope, panel profile, and usual snow load you may need a couple of layers of them rather than just one row.

I feel like IPAs are very one note beers.

100% agree. So tired of seeing breweries making 5 different IPAs and just one or two other beers.

Sync actually helped me figure out that I can sign up for lemmy.this and still see stuff for lemmy.that. the organization is the tricky part it seems. I can look at the everything section and see it all but I would like to see an everything that includes my subscribed things (subreddits for lack of knowing the correct term) I'm sure that will come though as Sync gets more and more polished

Lemmy being so confusing is partly why I was upset about Reddit taking a dump. I don't understand the difference in all the Lemmy things or what to sign up for. I was excited about Sync because it seems to make it easier to understand and see everything. I just want something that will replicate a frontpage which is what Sync is trying to do. I don't have the desire or time to learn the ins and outs of it all.
