In the last 3 days I've been paying attention to r/all, expecting several posts about it and...

Yeah

Wasn't expecting the website to literally shut down nor to monopolize r/all, because 3rd party users are the minority, but I hoped for more than whatever this was.

At least there's a silver lining, I discovered new alternatives that have healthier communities

That’s actually genious

We really do live in a boring dystopia

for the new story. Base game owners will receive these updates as well

Honestly? ChatGPT (4) is basically a stackoverflow 2.0. It’s my goto when I want help with specific problems. There are alternative options, is what I mean.

I deleted all my comments on Reddit. I do not want them to benefit from my knowledge even if it might inconvenience someone else

Copying this from another comment /edit: all of these updates are coming to the base game

TL;DR: This is not a DLC. This is Cyberpunk 2.0.

•	virtually every system of the main game has been changed and/or updated
•	police system is completely reworked with multiple tiers of NCPD/mercs chasing you down in vehicles according to your wanted level, apparently on level 5 maxtac will chase you down and it will be some sort of bossfight against them (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riK1i8lQwRM&t=511s)
•	perks and skills have been completely overhauled, no longer simple passive stat boosts, much more active abilities like different melee finishers, a dash, or the ability to deflect bullets with melee weapons
•	the difficulty curve is reworked/rebalanced
•	the loot tiers are reworked
•	archetypes of enemies have been redone for more variety in combat encounters
•	an entirely new 6th skill tree that uses a different type of skill points (relic points) that will be used to add new abilities to your cyberware
•	installing cyberware now has an effect on your body and you cant install too much or else you will go cyberpsycho (no idea what that looks like in game)
•	installing cyberware now has a first person cutscene added to it, just like in the prologue at Vik’s clinic
•	you can now “attune” cyberware to one of your attributes, making it more efficient if you have invested in that attribute; example here optical camo is attuned to the “cool” attribute: https://i.imgur.com/1UI9SEX.png
•	armor is no longer tied to clothing, it instead tied to your cybernetics
•	vehicle combat is added to the game, you can even use your katana on your bike
•	vehicles are no longer bought from fixers, but bought through a website set up by mama welles
•	some vehicles have guns installed on them (machine guns, rocket launchers)
•	new type of infinitely replayable/repeatable missions are being added where you need to steal certain vehicles marked on your map
•	new activity introduced “airdrops”, loot caches that drop randomly on the map that you can fight over and retrieve for yourself
•	tons of new random events/activities are added to make the world feel more alive, like car chases and gang fights

can it even be done?

Thanks for the links, will read the second in a bit 👍

Yeah, it's better to learn not to care about what the Gamers™ say. They love to be angry

It isn't surprising, at least with my anecdotal experience, but still higher than I expected. Two girl friends of mine started to play lan parties with us since covid, and I know another that is completely obsessed with Valorant, and another that is equally obsessed with Football Manager.

I tried to find the original study and can't. The only source that everyone points to is this tweet by the executive director of Circana. Anyone knows where I can find it?

It kind of doesn’t matter which distro you use. They should all work similarly with gaming, there’s no distro with some magic formula that makes it more compatible or with better performance than the alternatives. So pick one that strikes your fancy.

If you’re new, it’s probably better to stick with well known distros. I recommend Mint and Pop OS. Both are based on Ubuntu, so every time you run into an issue or have a questions, you can google solutions for Ubuntu which will also work on Mint/Pop OS. But both also have big communities, so you’ll always have help.

Word of advice that Nvidia and Linux don’t really work that well together. Some games will have issues. AMD GPUs work just fine though.

Yup it did

Also something weird, when I saw this combo, iamthatis was the first reply. Now it's way down there, despite the upvotes and gilds.

I really don't like putting on the tin foil hat, but since spez admitted in the past that he changed other users comments, I'm calling it, this guy is still messing around with things behind the scenes

Sharing this because it should be shared

No need, you just have to login on reddit like normal. It works in the browser itself

There are tools out there that help with this, but the better ones like the one I linked use the API.

I don’t know what will happen to them next month, but if you are thinking about it, keep in mind that they may not be around or work like they do today, and you may have to use other more convoluted tools.

The more I dive the worse it smells. Willing to bet this situation would be less worse if they just came out and said "Alright guys sorry but we're banning 3rd party apps", instead they make more and more lies

In my opinion, we're reaching a moment where people are realizing that having lots of users doesn't matter that much if you can't monetize them. We took a lot of services for granted that maybe don't make any financial sense, which probably only survived because both the company and investors hoped that as long you could attract users, you could monetize them later.

I think that "later" is now.

Today I noticed that youtube has a new feature that unlocks more bitrate, but only for premium users (there's two 1080p options, one normal and another with more bitrate). I'm expecting that these social medias and other tech companies will try to monetize us further
