I've used GIMP to create all of my memes. It's just fine, even if the UI can be unintuitive.

It lacks features compared to Photoshop, which is a reference to the fact that 2 developers maintain the core features of it.

It can be sad to realize that perfect privacy and security can't be achieved, but on the other hand, what you can't change are things such as Intel ME, proprietary blobs in android or the linux kernel. It still pisses me off, but unless the FBI specifically targets me, there's no reason to worry about this, and so I don't. I instead focus on minimizing data collection, and being in control of my software, which is doable.

Here's a link to the news. https://e621.net/news_updates

Edit: As people in the comments pointed out, this bill targets all websites hosting porn. e621 just happens to be hosted in Arizona, and it therefore affects them directly.

The original photo, in case anyone else sees potential in this meme format

It's worth mentioning that GIMP is mainly developed by two developers. If you wish for the development to be faster, you should consider donating.

That's what I used to think as well actually. I opened it, saw the airplane control center, and closed it. But then I volunteered for editing a photo for my school, and I had to learn how to effectively create borders around the text, as I would have to makes a lot of changes to them. So I searched and came across this video. And then I understood that GIMP is actually a really powerful tool, you just have to learn how the developers intended you to work with it. Admittedly, having to use the drop shadow feature for text borders is pretty retarded, but it lets you fine tune the how the end result will look.

GIMP or Krita might not be up to the standard as Affinity and Photoshop are, but at least while perfecting my skills in GIMP, I don't have to worry about having to find a different software because a random company purchases it.

As far as I know, Lemmy doesn't allow the deletion of content. https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/1b6g219/psa_you_cant_delete_photos_uploaded_to_lemmy_so/

You should however be able to overwrite your posts. So when you delete them, change every field to random nonsense.

Nintendo refuses to fix the joycon drift issue and still charges full price for a 7 years old device. We will call it a moral draw.

A lot of people around me are genuinely confused when your email is not firstname.lastname@gmail.com, as they mostly just use it for confirming logins. That's how bad the situation is.

I'm sure there will be developers capable enough to keep it working on new operating systems. Games that worked with it until now will keep on working, and that's what matters to most people anyways. No need for major changes to the codebase.

May I ask what do you mean by android not allowing ad blockers? You can set up a private DNS and set it to one that blocks ads. A very simple thing to do.

It technically is, but "Linux" in Android's case is meant as the kernel.
