So I’m preface this by saying I love this game as it lets me just do things and forget about life for a while. But, I kind of suck at planning (ADHD) and so I’ll just end up watching play throughs and building what they build, where I would rather just play it on my own but I can never keep the motivation to see what I should do next.

So I’m wondering is there some kind of checklist for each step.

Like:

  • Gather resources
  • Set up electric power
  • Get 1 red science per second set up
  • etc

This is as worded hella poorly and I will delete if not well received.

I don't think I could ever play without a jetpack. Ingot density helps solve so many logistical issues. Higher tech recipes making some things more efficient gives the game a really fun sense of progression.

That's outside of just liking all the puzzles it adds to the game.

Anyone feel similar? Different?

So first off, here's my lane balancer. As far as I know this allows 100% throughput (just a bit big).

And here's what I'm calling a 2-Belt Overflow Balancer. It will keep the inputs on their output belt (top stays on top, bottom stays on bottom), and will only actually balance between the two if either are backed up.

And lastly, here's two lane balancers, followed by the overflow balancer:

I've just set up arcosphere balancing in my K2SE playthrough.

My set up is relatively simple, though it uses a lot of combinators! I'm taking the inputs for a recipe as signal I and the products as signal P. If I > P then I request the inputs for that particular recipe.

I then added a slight tweak to multiply the products by 1.1, so the inputs need to exceed products by 10% before the request comes through.

Initially, it never reached equilibrium and the gravimetrics facilities would keep churning away. With the extra 10% buffer, it settles down a lot more easily and kicks in only when things start to become more unbalanced.

I've been producing naquium tesseracts and DSS3 data cards for a while now and it seems to be hanging together.

I had a hiccup early on when I ended up really unbalanced due to the length of time bots were in the air with arcospheres leading to the balancing running amok. My fix for now has been to move DSS3 and tesseracts close to the balancing area, but not sure this is going to be sustainable. Let's see!

Rescue Refueling Operation (lem.trashbrain.org)

The big ship got pulled away in a vortex so was nearly out of fuel. It ran to the nearest star and waited for the fast shuttle to meet it there and bring it more.

Was curious how people design their factories. I typically do a main bus but decided to try city blocks this time and use a lot of trains.
