Title. I hear people complaining about how MMOs don't have the feeling of an alive world nowadays since you just look everything up in guides and communicate through Discord, and the way Caches work is imo a genius way to recapture some of that feeling of the game itself being your means of communication with the other players. Sure it isn't super extensive, but for me that's not what I'm looking for. Joining a sniff tag is both the optimal way to find info about cache locations, and done completely in-game, and through interacting with others. People who did their caches already are still compelled to stay in the squad while they do other events in the map, and they have a passive way of helping out the squad by tagging up if the commander leaves.

This entire system is designed to facilitate in-game cooperation between players and I love it.

Honestly, the new trailer is awesome! However, a new player comes in hoping an epic boss fight after seeing such unique design to a dragon and then… well, you know what that looks like. One of the biggest disappointments I had with the game.

Rework could also be a new strike mission.

I bought this game during the Steam summer sale and have been making my way through the story. Earlier today I finished the last Janthir story mission which was released and I'm excited to be caught up with the rest of the community on the story. During the journey I got the Skyscale in LWS4, got the griffon, did the core Tyria map completion, got 2 legendaries (and next week I'll have a 3rd - The Ascension), and completed all the masteries for Core and PoF.

I'm really surprised this game isn't considered to be competition for the more popular MMOs. I've never really gotten super deep into any of the modern MMOs, though I did play several of the older ones as a kid, even though I've tried basically everything on the market. GW2's older maps all still being relevant for the most part, legendary grinds, multiple endgame game modes being viable ways to get loot, horizontal progression, the mastery system, lax daily system, and several other things I'm probably not thinking of right now really do a lot to fix the issues that have turned me off of other MMOs. Even the story is surprisingly decent for an MMO.

I remember that I played this game at launch and made it to level 40 or so, messed around in WvW a bit, then fell off the game. After I quit playing, I never heard of this game again until the last year or so when one of my friends revealed he secretly had about 1000 hours in the game, even though he had never completed the story and was still in PoF and had also never talked about GW2. I figured it was worth a shot, bought all the expansions on a whim during the Steam sale, and the rest is history. I've seen like 0 marketing for this game over the years. I can't help but think there are a lot of people like me who would love this game but either have never heard of it, or tried it a long time ago and never heard that it continued development.

Jump Start runs until November 25th, while the Extra Life bonuses run until November 19th, and the reward track bonuses from these events stack with one another. That means this week will be the fastest that you can progress a WvW reward track for at least a year, so if you've been meaning to get some Gifts of Battle, spend as much time in WvW as you can to build up a supply for later.

You can further boost your reward track progress with the items and buffs listed here:

If you want to find groups to run with for easy participation, you can check my profile for links to the EU and NA World vs. World Discord hubs.

Good luck in the Mists!

Welcome back to Void Lounge's Temple of Febe "Progathon" Weekend!

Time to warm up for Mount Balrior next week! Finish Soto's last encounter this weekend and get hyped up about the new content. This weekend will be all about Temple of Febe CM progression.

When? November 15th - 17th

Where? Void Lounge Discord

With the amazing success that was Progathon Part 1 (Harvest Temple), during which we hosted 121 Progression runs, we saw 90+ unique users reach Zhaitan and 40+ unique users reach Soo Won! Including 3 members achieving Void Walker status with no prior experience on the encounter! (and many more since then!)

What to expect in Part 2:

This weekend is about Temple of Febe and all its glory with our experienced team. There will be many "try out" runs, so that you can test the water for an hour to see if you'd like to commit to it. Since our LFG is progression-based, you will also be able to get into runs that fit the experience level (rank) you have achieved in previous runs.

Events Still Ongoing:

We have a Temple of Febe CM Taskmaster style competition for both Kill groups as well as Progression groups! The current prize pool is over 3600 gold. We also have a November Lottery, in which you only need to submit a kill log of either ToF CM or HT CM to participate and possibly win 2000MC

So why wait? Finish up that L/CM in prep for Wing 8! Drag your friends, guildies and significant other along for the ride!!

The Void Lounge Team

Hey for any who care, I went ahead and updated the Google Sheets Fractal God Calculator I had been maintaining. 5 days away from God myself, I thought I would celebrate with this last update since it was something I had been wanting to do for a while (and the link to the most up-to-date dT tool seems to be dead).

Since my last post 8 months ago I have:

  • Added new CM Lonely Tower
  • Added +1 Infusion calculations (estimates based on data from [fast]) to estimate time to acquire what is needed, or what is needed to purchase to bypass
  • Calculated recommended item conversions for fastest time to Fractal God. No more having to manually guess. This is done with iterative calculation so can sometimes take a minute.
  • Simplified some of the selections while also adding an option to set x amount of clears per 7 day week. For my own benefit this helps to understand currency gain to measure against things like fractal encryptions and weekly clovers, even when at God.

Same link as before but here it is again: Fractal God Calculator. Hope you enjoy!
