I just wanted to use a weight tape on her to see what her approximate weight is and she just kept avoiding me and tried to get me to chase her until she realized it was way too hot for that shit.

She isn't grossly underweight for a horse of her age and breed, but she isn't where I want her to be. The brutal heat and humidity this summer has been rough on her, and I think she lost weight in the past month based on look and feel alone, but I'm confident I can get her looking better again. I'm gonna be getting her a salt lick because I suspect she's low on electrolytes from the heat.

Source.

A billboard truck spent Wednesday circling the FTC, telling them to focus on Big Tech, grocery prices, and the dangers of privacy-destroying data brokers—instead of holding an out-of-scope workshop on gender-affirming care.

There's actually about ten images in this set, but Lemmy will only let me pick one, so I hope I got the best one of the set!

Thank you for seeing my work!

The Algoma Buffalo, a 635 foot long lake freighter, about to pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth, Minnesota. People gather at the water's edge almost every time a freighter comes in, and clap and wave. These ships have typically been sailing for several days by the time they hit Duluth.

I like to get her moving a tiny bit every time I'm there to make sure she's still moving okay and doesn't have any foot issues. After we finished with that, I sprayed her off with fly spray and considered hanging out with some friends there but decided it was way too awful out and went home.

Hopefully tomorrow isn't as awful. I want to actually brush her down if I can. It's supposed to storm, so hopefully it'll make a nice draft through the barn that'll cool everything down.

I loved the quirkiness of r/watertowers, but eff that site anymore so here's where I'm putting my random #watertowers now
