The immovable force, an ironclad warrior, wearer of the mightiest codpiece - Rhino!

Passive: If Rhino falls far enough to incur a Hard Landing, the ground impact will discharge a shockwave that deals Impact damage and Knockdown in a 6 meter area of effect.
Rhino Charge - Rhino charges towards a target, clobbering any in his path and goring his victim.
Iron Skin - Rhino hardens his skin, insulating himself from all damage.
Roar - Grants all nearby Warframes increased damage for a short duration.
Rhino Stomp - Rhino stomps with force sufficient to disrupt time, tumbling enemies around him in stasis.

Acquisition: Main blueprint can be purchased from the Market. Component blueprints are obtained from defeating Jackal on Fossa, Venus.

Got back into the game recently (600 hrs, MR 16) after a year or two away. Been loving it! Taking it slow, working my way through the quests I've missed, grinding a bit of Operation: Belly of the Beast, and leveling some weapons I've got in my backlog.

It's been a blast! I don't have any fancy builds with lots of forma or archon shards or rivens, but I can hang with pretty much anything non-SP (which I guess I have to unlock again now that there are new nodes.)

One thing I'm a bit worried about is that there's too much for me to do it all. So many new modes and mechanics. Trying to focus on what I feel is the "base game" (starchart and open worlds + Railjack) and branch out into the other stuff (Duviri, 1999, Zariman, etc) in a bit, one at a time, so I can get a good feel for them.

Anyway, saw this community was pretty dead, but didn't want to post on Reddit, so here we are. :)

My top picks are my favs of Zephyr, Yareli and Ivara. Frost and Protea if I had to expand it to a top five.

Bonus round: what three frames do you think are getting a Proto treatment alongside Proto Temple? Praying for Frost actually 🙏

The elemental alchemist, Orokin executioner, serpent whisperer - Lavos!

Passive: Lavos cleanses all active negative Status Effects and gains status immunity for 10 seconds upon collecting an Energy or Universal Orb. Picking up an Energy or Universal Orb has a cooldown of 5 seconds.
Ophidian Bite - Lash out with a toxic serpentine strike, consuming the target to heal Lavos.
Vial Rush - Dash forward, crashing through enemies and leaving an icy trail of broken vials.
Transmutation Probe - Launch a probe that converts Health and Energy Orbs into Universal Orbs that provide both, and ammo pickups into Universal Ammo Pickups. The probe shocks enemies in close proximity. Each electrocuted foe reduces other ability cooldowns by one second.
Catalyze - Catalyst Probes erupt from Lavos and douse combatants in a fiery gel. Damage is doubled for each element afflicting an enemy.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints are available from Father with Entrati standing.

With big meta changes in 1999, some of my commentary is out of date. I also tend to slowly learn new things about the weapons as I go, or have brain waves like for this week's selection.

As always the "Crowd Wisdom" is because I'd love for people to share their thoughts about the offerings.

What do we have this week?

  • Braton
  • Lato
  • Skana
  • Paris
  • Kunai

My personal favourites are Skana and Kunai.

Braton

Still have not conclusively labbed how the anti-crit evolution works with Comradery and Acuity. I'm making a note that I'll comment a report of my research process and findings if I remember or come up with a good experiment protocol. If anyone else wants to confirm or share their findings, go for it!

Lato

Deathtrap Trigger is even more attractive now that we have Acuity and Comradery. Skana has a setup to feed Secondary Outburst without sacrificing Melee Influence, which is both extremely fun and extremely effective.

Skana

Evolution II confers +9 combo whenever Skana strikes an "undamaged" enemy. Notably, this includes the initial hit sent through Melee Influence; and enemies with overguard are "undamaged" until the overguard is depleted.

So, while there are some restrictions in place, it's not as useless as I originally wrote it off. Especially with Panzer Vulpaphyla no longer being a guaranteed companion pick, as long as you're not playing a frame that does large AoE chip damage like Mag, Frost, Nova etc, it is very easy to keep your combo up.

As mentioned on Lato, this lets you maintain the best of both worlds of Secondary Outburst and Melee Influence.

Paris

No updates since last time, other than bows in general benefit from Acuity and Comradery due to the incredible power of Longbow Sharpshot's unique multiplicative bonus. Stealth frames can abuse Spectral Serration to scale this weapon extremely hard.

Kunai

Another Deathtrap Trigger weapon, like the Lato. Even easier to use since it homes. Same remarks about the Skana setup apply here too, if you choose to go that route.

Unlike the Lato, has multiplicative Cascadia Accuracy, and hence also Acuity. Absolute terror of a weapon for priority killing.

Zephyr Prime is up +6.81% with basic Zephyr up +10.50%! I shall claim full credit for causing this change! Glad more people discovered the power of the bird last year.

The vampiric healer, the original support frame, lobster skirt - Trinity!

Passive: Trinity and allies in her Affinity Range gain Lifegiver, which increases their Health equal to 50% (25% in Conclave) of Trinity's total Energy pool.
Well of Life - Create a well of life on an enemy who will absorb Status Effect damage intended for nearby allies. Allies gain additional Health when they attack the target. If allies die, enemies in the well of life die in their stead.
Energy Vampire - Allies will gain energy over time when enemies are marked with Energy Vampire.
Link - Any damage taken while Link is active will be channeled to a nearby enemy.
Blessing - Restore the health and shields of allies within Affinity Range while reducing the damage they take from enemies.

Acquisition: Main blueprint can be purchased from the Market. Component blueprints are obtained from defeating Ambulas on Hades, Pluto.

Previous thread: https://dormi.zone/post/3155025

I finally have all my Week 8 Incarnons, so I can personally review them! Warframe dedicates should also have everything or all but one Incarnon too, so let's see what the people think!

What have we got this week? Well, some real goodies in my opinion:

  • Sybaris
  • Sicarus
  • Okina
  • Dera
  • Cestra

Sybaris

I have a soft spot for incarnons with unique skins, and Sybaris gives us the very cool Dex Sybaris skin. Nice well-rounded weapon, the forced Blast procs give it a bit of crowd clear if you build it for punch-through or use grouping abilities. Blast also easily keeps Galvanized Scope charged with high enough enemy densities, even on factions with tricky weak spots like Infested. Forced Blast also lets you build Cold for utility, so guess what I did!

If you're one of the Zephyr players in this community, sadly forced procs do not transfer through tornadoes, so you'll have to shoot things directly. Still, a very funny priority killer for the birb.

Dera

It took me a while to come around on this one. Incarnon form has innate Magnetic, but is burdened by a painfully low rate of fire and middling status chance of 22%. It won't proc status effects often, and the innate Magnetic gets washed out by modded elements. But that's not how you use this gun!

Has a (currently) unique incarnon perk that scales base crit off current effective status chance, so the weapon can achieve, simultaneously, very high crit, status (with Crux and 60/60 stacking), and Galvanized Aptitude self-scaling. The weapon hits like a truck!

Current favourite build is ol' reliable corrosive-cold, which gives this weapon universal coverage with the innate mag. I've also tried viral-electric, it's much of a muchness. Blast Elementalist builds are also an option.

Definitely a fan now. And it has a cool Vandal variant!

Sicarus

In a word: exciting. Extremely high crit chance due its perk options. Has a funny glitch interaction where it can infinitely stack Enervate due to being unable to crit on non-weakpoint hits. Probably going to be patched in Echoes of 1999!

Cestra

Has absolutely ludicrously heavy crit scaling due to the highest critical damage multiplier in the game in addition to excellent critical chance. I still haven't figured out how to get exciting damage numbers out of it yet though. The optional build path of crit chance -> status chance gives it a high performance Shiver build, however, so that's an option. Excellent on Harrow, Empowered Blades users, and shield recharge Grendel and Nezha builds as even self-inflicted shield drain will trigger Steadfast Grit.

Okina

Frost simulator. One of my top 3 incarnon melees. Not only do they shred whatever you're directly attacking, they spread Cold far and wide. Running Shivering Contagion on your primary lets the freeze from the daggers splash a little further. Also great for keeping Ice Storm going, keeping Primary Frostbite going, and triggering the condition for Secondary Shiver.

Influence builds will heavily CC everything coming at you while nuking in a wide radius.

Briefly enjoyed glaive maths on the spectral daggers, although that seems to have been fixed. Limbo and Chroma just can't catch a break! Stealth frames still enjoy stealth multi on the projectiles though, so Blastfluence builds are very funny on stealth users.

Also excellent Melee Doughty candidates if you use the base model, and the Prime variant is quite effective too.

Shards: 3x tauforged ability strength, tauforged initial energy, tauforged cast speed. Full strip on Avalanche can be reached with 2x tauforged red and 1x normal red, or you can ease the requirements further by running Growing Power instead of Worthy Comradery.

This build is designed to cover almost every threat you will face in EDA:

  • The combination of Silence + Snow Globe will protect objectives, as it prevents abilities like Hollow Vein's sandstorm, and Blitz Eximus shockwaves from being cast and bypassing Snow Globe.
  • In addition, Silence will block the intensely cursed Eximus Assassination combination from healing the boss.
  • Freeze Force has been buffed to be non-combining and will slow Demolisher Mechs on Disruption missions, in addition to being a powerful damage buff in its own right.
  • Icy Avalanche prevents most EDA debuffs from taking effect, including protecting you and the party from Vampiric Liminus.

The only hole is Mirror Defense's "objectives take damage" debuff, which we have this week. I had to coordinate with a Mag friend to keep overshields on the objective.

This build is heavily invested into energy economy, including running a Sahasa Kubrow with Synth Deconstruct and Duplex Bond. Panzer is also an excellent option as well, but I like having my emotional support Dispenserdog going "bork bork!". The energy economy is so that mistakes don't happen under pressure.

Health Conversion is there to increase the snap overguard from Icy Avalanche casts. Ice Spring is there so I can keep my sanity playing slow old Frost, but you could easily run Preparation, Hand Spring or another movement Exilus.

Hello c/Warframe!

First of all, I want to make a big shout out to @keegen@lemmy.zip , whose effort in writing the Weekly Warframe Revisited posts here are what got me back into the game recently.

I just crossed something like 120 hours played (across many different attempts to "get into" the game over the last 10 years), which I know is peanuts compared to many folks, but it's a significant personal milestone. It's very rare that any game holds my attention for that amount of time, though full disclosure compels me to state that, prior to this latest interaction with the game, I'd wager I didn't make it more than 10 hours in any of my previous attempts.

So, thanks to Keegen and their work here. I'll speak for all of my fellow lurkers (what are they gonna do, post something to correct me? I think it unlikely lol) by saying we appreciate the effort you've put into preventing this community from stagnating.

In an effort to contribute, do any of you have any moments you'd like to share where Warframe made you do your best Exasperated Picard?

I'll go first. Important to note 100+ playtime hours. I JUST discovered this week that the handful of mods I have in my inventory which affect multiple damage stats are rewards for Nightmare Missions. I've felt like my main frame's power level had plateaued for some time, and routinely struggle to take on enemies in the 40-50 range on longer endless missions. Cue me learning that I'd been (intentionally) ignoring the mode which grants the exact sort of reward that breaks a build through to that tier of content, and cue my Picard impression.

The psychic, mental manipulator, strongest minion frame - Nyx!

Release date: 2013-01-29

Passive: Nyx gains Thrive in Chaos whenever enemies within Affinity Range are afflicted with Confusion (from Radiation status effect or Mind Control), increasing her primary and secondary weapon Critical Chance by 40% per enemy up to a maximum of 200% from 5 enemies.
Mind Control - Nyx seizes control of a target's mind, compelling them to fight for the Tenno cause. Controlled enemies have increased Radiation Status Chance. When Nyx shoots them, they also have an increased Damage Multiplier.
Psychic Bolts - Nyx unleashes a volley of psychic bolts that track and strike nearby enemies with telekinetic precision. When enemies are slain, additional bolts scatter to new targets. Striking foes weakens their defenses and transfers a portion to Nyx.
Chaos - Nyx releases a devastating psychic pulse, disorienting enemies in a wide radius and forcing them to turn on each other. Confused foes lash out at random factions.
Absorb - Nyx draws in and contains the damage dealt to her and the damage confused enemies deal to each other then converts it into a devastating radial blast. Following the blast, she enters a brief invulnerable state and gains a Weapon Damage boost proportional to the absorbed damage.

Acquisition: Main blueprint can be purchased from the Market. Component blueprints can be obtained from defeating Phorid on assassination missions that appear during an Infested Invasion.

I've had a shit day and figured a little Warframe might make it better.

Decide to talk to the Hex... after today I've decided I'm just fucking done with Quincy's games. So, since I won't be figuring it out myself what's his deal? Why is he like this?

EtA: I'd gotten to the point where he tasks us to tell our worst secret, something to make him hate us. So I told him a story. He just said he had to think about it or something of the like and convo ended.

Today I come back and he says I failed and now he's going to actually do it, tell us a story that'll make us hate him. I took the [End] option there and just stopped the convo. Had it with his games.

Hello everyone,

It's occurred to me that I have a problem getting prime gear and never asked about it: I have a hard time picking an item, figuring out which relics to crack to get its pieces, and actually doing it.

So, to that end how to you sort what you should be doing in order to acquire new prime gear? I've managed to reach MR28 and I seriously doubt I'll be getting any further without being able to effectively hunt and acquire Prime gear.

This is a bit of a unique twist on the weekly warframe format, instead of me bringing you the frame, it's time to do the opposite! (this is totally not because I have no ideas for a thread myself, nope!) Doesn't matter if it's an incredibly niche or a very popular warframe, if you have something to say about your favorite (or most hated) frame - this is your chance! Maybe you have a concept for a frame that doesn't exist but you wish it did? This is also the perfect chance to bring it up!

Basic setup: Worthy Comradery for crit chance, and Tenacious Bond for crit damage. Arcane Crepuscular also works. It's pretty reasonable set up ability nukers with a Huras Kubrow for near-permanent stealth for Crepuscular uptime.

Projectiles that work:

  • Breach Surge sparks (Wisp, Helminth)
  • Flechette Orb (Vauban) -- unreliable

Projectiles that need a more stable experimental setup:

  • Seeking Talons (Garuda)

Not tested:

  • Dread Mirror bloodball (Garuda)
  • Airburst (Zephyr helminth) -- if this works, it potentially has a setup on Piercing Navigator Ivara to make it actually deadly.
  • Breach Surge sparks (Wisp)
  • Antimatter Drop, Neutron Star (Nova)
  • Spectral Scream (Chroma)
  • Smiteballs (Oberon)
  • Radial Javelin (Excal)
  • Anything else...

Projectiles that don't work:

  • Anything on Styanax :(

This is going to open up a really funny and gimmicky way of playing certain projectile casters. Theoretically I think Arcane Arachne + Arcane Crepuscular is going to be the setup to use to really push this.

Obviously I haven't labbed this extensively yet, so if any fellow labmonsters want to have a go at it, be my guest! I just wanted to share that this is some truly beautiful spaghetti jank. Remember to thank Vauban for leaving this buggy code open to us.

So, I just decided to try fighting the tank again after my last post about it. Tried to make use of all the advice I'd gotten to see if it'd be any less frustrating.

Took the Phenmor as my primary, brought Jade for flight, made a new preset on my Corufell as a fallback, and... forgot about Primary Sure-Footed. The Phenmor was OK for breaking the weak points but not great. Maybe the Felarx or Corinth Prime would've been better.

I tried jumping more and even riding the tank. It kind of worked but I still didn't like it. I think subsequent times I'll just default to cheese weapons like the Corufell. On that note does anyone have suggestions for improving my heavy-attack spam build? I'm only ever going to use it against the tank, already I'm doubting Life Strike's usefulness here.

Update: Tried the tank on hardmode. It was fun, even though I died and didn't get the sumdali.

This glaive is nasty! Innate Blast lets it do all kinds of shenanigans with Influence, especially stealth Influence. Zephyr's best glaive too if you're a Zephyr player. My 5x heavy build readily hits tens of millions.

In my opinion it's tied with Pathocyst for "best glaive" now that slash has been properly balanced with elemental damage.

Had a discussion with the clan where a newer player was planning on skipping Trinity since "she's a support frame". Having tinkered with her builds a fair bit, I think it's more fair to say she can be built as an unkillable melee nuker, making her maybe more like a "war cleric" or such.

I still need to test if Empowered Blades is actually usable at level cap with the constant recycling of shields between empty and full, but at least at "normal" levels of content (less than level 550), Trinity has an extremely powerful melee setup with the aura.

source: upload to the wiki

It's important to note that status damage is applied twice in two instances, and three times when both situations are true: whenever Blast damages nearby enemies, and whenever status is transferred through Melee Influence. Adding another 60% status damage is thus 73% more damage on regular Influence builds, and an impressive 127% more damage on Blast Influence nuke builds.

Trinity is an excellent carrier for Empowered Blades as she has two very effective methods of generating shields: Blessing, and her Energy Leech augment Vampire Leech. In addition, her shield recovery is for everyone, so she doesn't grief her teammates as hard as other viable EB users!

We can extend this ability to buff melee even further through a variety of helminths. Due to Trinity's incredible energy economy, she can afford to run extremely high power/low efficiency builds to offset "helminth nerfs":

  • Xata's Whisper: the Blast-Xata multidip interaction goes even harder here due to the extra status damage. Boxes you in to Blast Influence builds though.
  • Sentient Wrath: ~~AoE damage vulnerability and Tau status for status chance. Another source of multidip for Influence.~~ 1/6th better than Roar and provides a bit of CC, but otherwise limited by line of sight.
  • Roar: after nerfs to Sentient Wrath, it's significantly better if you're planning on using Influence to do LoS-ignoring nukes
  • Eclipse: double dips on glaives and certain "glaive maths" projectiles like the Okina Incarnon ghost sai (although something else weird might be going on with that weapon).
  • Wrathful Advance: since this is a melee buffing setup
  • Nourish: scaling shield support due to the interaction with Vampire Leech. Offsets Blind Rage.
  • Infested Mobility: the people thought they were safe from Slamkong, but Slamkour never went away.

Weapons I've personally tried and can recommend with this setup:

  • Sancti Magistar Incarnon
  • Praedos
  • Halikar Wraith
  • Pathocyst (looking forward to getting an electric Coda Pathocyst)
  • Corufell
  • Stropha
  • Okina Incarnon

My GF and I have recently started playing WF together and have been playing a lot. We're enjoying our time a lot and like having another multiplayer game at our disposal when Overwatch and League get on our nerves.

Now, school's starting for me again on Monday, so we tried going to sleep a little earlier last night. I kid you not, whenever I closed my eyes, I could not think or dream of something else apart from WF. Literally, just jump, bullet jump, dash over and over and random objectives that I'm clearing before my inner eye. I couldn't sleep properly, this kept going up until like 5am or something where I took a painkiller against my headache and a couple sprays of melatonin so I can fall asleep finally.

Long story short, we went to sleep around 12pm so so we can wake up at 8am for some normalcy and now it's 11am :D

I had barely even been playing the game the past two days - my brain just thought it needs another fix or something.

Something like that ever happen to you?
