(sorry to ruin the chain, but this is genuinely why Freddie's solo career never really took off, because his hyperbolic vocals neatly complemented Brian May's amazing guitar skills. Together they were amazing. With Queen they were gods. Alone, they were only great.)

(Freddie's solo career was about him, not about Queen. He didn't have to make hits with the band. I don't know what your comment was referring to.)

(I'm saying that quoting Queen without the guitar solos gives Freddy too much credit, as shown by his somewhat tame solo career.)
