I've been meaning to finish "The Accidental Spy" by Sean O'Driscoll. The book is quite literally a limited hangout by the FBI. Or I guess just their official version of events.
The book is about an American who got involved with the IRA in the 80s and 90s and how he became an informant for the FBI and Br*tish intelligence. The man is still in FBI witness protection.
It's a fascinating look into how the feds operate. it gave pretty good insight into how the IRA was being run in the north west, and what glaring mistakes they made by trusting this guy so much.
