The cover-up was worse than the chant. Does he think "Allah" is offensive?
He admits he was drunk at the time and he doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the box at the best of times. It probably seemed like a good idea to make his actions less of a hate crime, presumably forgetting about all his other nonsense.
