I am not even down with capital punishment. Just life in prison for both insurrection and treason. In court and in history books the terms matter quite a bit. In terms of my personal opinion, insurrectionist, and treasonous people are the same. That’s all.

The meme specifially calls for the death of treasonous people and you (along with the rest of the commentors) are agreeing with the sentiment. Its either you agree that your view matters more than judicial review or you can stop using the word. These words have meaning; dont lump everything together and call for death just because it suits whatever agenda you may have.

It’s a meme. And I’l didn’t make the meme.

I can think of them as no different than treasonous traitors. To me you’re splitting hairs. In court it matters. In the view of public opinion, not so much.

I also think people who give traitors cover, are not much better.

Thanks!

You are using the words "treasonous traitors" even though none of the jan 6 rioters were considered treasonous nor traitors. Its just as libelous as me calling you a traitor for trying to usurp national law.

Stop using the words. They have meaning that implies they can and should be put to death. If you dont believe that then dont use the words. Im not trying to defend their actions, im trying to defend the words. Just call them insurrectionists. Dont call for their death.

In court there’s a distinction. We’re not in court.

I also think confederates were treasonous traitors. Sorry dude.

Cry. Or don’t. Doesn’t matter to me.

Im not saying this is a court man. I'm just saying your word choice is based on ignorance by choice.

Confederates were tried for treason, but nice gotcha attempt.

Nobody is crying. Just trying to see if I can change your mind on the idea that word definitions matters, but I feel like I can't. You have a good day.

The distinction of treason and insurrection is domestic vs foreign. It’s a legal distinction. And it’s a distinction I don’t care about. And you’re not going to convince me that it’s morally wrong to see them as equal in terms of a threat to our country.

I’m not writing a textbook. If I was, I’d say “insurrection.” Sure.

To me personally they’re the same in pile of shit. And they belong in the same prison.

Im sure you feel the same for the whole CHAZ/CHOP thing. They took over several blocks of the city and claimed to independence of the united states... taking over federal land and claiming independence by force is textbook treason.

I am with you here that they belong in prison, but not dead. That is all.
