MODERATORS
Honestly, the only right thing to do after the civil war was to murder all the southern secessionists and give all of their wealth and land to the slaves.
The only reason we have this special brand of conservatism in the United States is because we agreed to be buddy-buddy with extreme racists over repairing our relationship with the slaves.
The south, and by extension the Republicans who give it power, is a cultural cancer on the world that needs to be stomped out forever.
Who's upvoting this tripe? Mass execution, really? Barbaric stupidity.
Execution is a possible penalty for treason
Edit: I'm not saying the should've been lined up and executed, give them trials and when found guilty then execute the traitors for being traitors.
So brave of you to take such a moral high-ground. Convince me I'm wrong that we would all be better off as a country if the slaves who built the south owned the south after they were freed (obviously their previous masters would not just stand by and watch this happen).
Instead we limp along fighting a constant culture war of racism with literal white supremacists having invaded all forms of government and law enforcement, because we didn't end them once and for all when we had the chance.
Unfortunately, your point of view won out back then and brought us this shit hole of a political stage in which we now live. So you can at least feel proud of that. It's not like the country wasn't already founded on literal fucking genocide. You're fine to prosper off of those mass killings. Hypocrite.

That's a bit too far, but the whole healing the country and forgiveness thing didn't work out. Maybe not let them vote for 100 years, extended jail sentences while we rebuilt without them or something...
If we let them live just to oppress them because we were too weak-willed to defeat our enemy in the first place, then their later generations will be much more likely to rebel and continue the cycle of bullshit.
Clearly we had no issues stomping out the natives who we stole the land from.
