Ask the people who faced execution just for trying to leave those shithole regimes. Why would they need to build a Berin Wall to keep people from entering West Germany if everything was going well in the east?
To be clear, my problem is not with communism, and I'm not defending unrestricted capitalism. But this shit isn't even trying to be funny. Take all the '-isms' elsewhere.
They built the wall to keep Western imperialism from taking them over. Freaking USA storms everywhere uninvited when they get the chance. Just see how they went to Vietnam and killed millions. And how they killed other millions squashing every socialist revolution attempt in the Americas. Why did the Chinese build the wall? To keep out the enemy.
Why were the guards shooting at their own citizens then?
