Colonialists aping socialist lingo to create a bare-bones welfare system for poorer colonialists so the overall genocidal apartheid state could be sustained, it has more in common with gulf state welfare schemes than with American New Dealism

It was a project of creating "buy-in" with arriving settlers, so genuine socialist solidarity with indigenous Palestinians never materialized, frankly it was as the decades proved largely unnecessary considering how radically racist the settlers turned out to be
