The mongolians used to put people under the floor that they would dance and party on, slowly crushing them to death.
That was because of their blood taboo where the blood of nobles (or really anybody) should never be shed or seen, so they elected to kill nobles in ways that avoided bloodshed.
I am even more convinced we should bring this back
