Every other time I go on People's Daily for Chinese news, I see a headline related to earthquakes. Why are there so many? (hexbear.net)

I know China's a big place, and there might be a lot of headlines about mutual aid for disaster survivors. I'm just amazed that I've seen so many earthquake related headlines on the site.

I don't really know anything about seismology but I'd bet it has to do with the same reason the Himalayas are there

Basically the Indian tectonic plate is still pushing into the Eurasian one, which is how the Himalayas came to be, resulting in major seismic activity in the area, such as this:
