The funniest part is that the laptop has been in sleep or hibernate all that time, not off.

You can still enable it, but between sleep and fast boot options it basically became obsolete.

with hybrid boot id argue its the default rn.

windows boots quickly because it sorta hibernates by default instead of actually powering off.

Hibernate was always an iffy option, so many different motherboards implemented it so differently. Light sleep is usually good enough, and has well defined wake triggers
