A coworker just asked me that same question a few minutes ago because it automatically installed on his phone without any input from him. It's a new service launched by Google at the end of last month, and in a typical Google fashion, we have no idea what it does. It's probably nothing to worry about though.
That's what happened to me. Couldn't find much online. If you look on the app store there are loads of one star reviews with some hypothesises about what it does. Some people seem to think it scans all your images, decides what's nsfw, and blurs them automatically. Can't think how to check that without downloading some nsfw images and I'm not going to do that lol. I think you're right about not worrying. If it is Google spyware, well, it's not the only one I've got!
