I get that some people really love beanis, but the volume of beanis posts in badposting is really overwhelming for others who just don't get it or find it funny.

Since there isn't (to my knowledge) a word-based post blocking feature for individual users, can beanis posting get its own comm so that people don't have to completely block badposting to stop seeing 50 posts of beans dildos and beans in cup holders and shit?

Sorry I didn't realize asking beanis posting to have its own comm to contain the spam was literally the same as homophobia, glad I was educated by the beanisposter I oppressed by making this request. I'll self-crit.

On a serious note, that reaction is a great reason why beanis posting should have its own comm

I blocked bad posting months ago and it significantly improved my experience here

I'm getting to that point but I honestly like 80% of the non-bean-spam bad posts, and it's nice to have a low-effort comm to post stupid bits in when I'm not sure if they're going to land

The culture of posting even more bean spam in response to people asking for bean containment really sucks though

What about HD, high quality beanis posting?

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 16 points 5 months ago (1 children)

yes being more annoying is clearly the answer here

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 8 points 5 months ago (2 children)

If it wasn't annoying, it wouldn't be bad posting, now would it?

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 13 points 5 months ago (1 children)

but this is c/commrequest...

to be serious though i don't find most of the posts there annoying, no. really i don't even necessarily find beanis posts annoying; they're kind of just repetitive filler that i pass over. that said i do think some of you (not you per se) are being pretty ridiculous and hostile towards a fairly benign and polite request

idk i don't really care about this one much but comparing "can we please put x posting into a containment comm" to literal queer persecution almost made me shoot blood out of my eyes like one of those funny lizards

Okay fine I'll stop beanis posting for a while (as much as I can, anyway. I'm always beanis posting. It's why my parents named me this). I'll do the soviet tank effort post instead.

sadness

look your name is literally beanis, nobody asked for or expects you all to stop beanis posting. the only thing crime or anybody else ever advocated for was "can we take this over there please"

nobody wants you to stop doing what you love. they just don't want to get so fed up with you that they have to block you or the whole comm over it. i think it's important this be made clear because too many people are being weird and taking it as something more insidious (an attack on their favorite bit, a struggle session, whatever) and it's getting kinda goofy

[–] crime@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago

Make c/annoyingposting for that then, there's a difference between bad and annoying

[–] Ithorian@hexbear.net 10 points 5 months ago

'm getting to that point but I honestly like 80% of the non-bean-spam bad posts, and it's nice to have a low-effort comm to post stupid bits in when I'm not sure if they're going to land
