I have played Eve Online so many hours, and it's a bad game. Don't do it. you will spend hundreds of hours dreaming about the cool thing you'll do later, but for 99% of players the cool thing will never happen. You will be part of the one percent's cool thing.

Do you have a similar game?

Genshin Impact. Had like 400 hours in it before quitting.

I'm glad I'm out of that grind hell now.

Gacha games are more of a lifestyle decision than a hobby. I've had 3 accounts and stopped playing on all of them because it's unbearable to grind materials all fucking day when I just want to enjoy cozy story quests and fun characters. Progress is artificially slow to inflate playtime and the resin system can suck a dick.

What do you mean by "progress" though? I played the entire story, did all the puzzles and the events I found entertaining. And I never needed additional accounts or to grind in any way.

I got stuck on bosses a few times. Maybe just a skill issue, idk. I also never had enough world level to unlock the next story quest whenever I finished a main story mission, I had to go through boring side stuff for a while every time.

Same story here. Gacha games are the worst.

So the grinding is the bad of it?

Certainly the biggest con for me.

The exploration and combat are pretty darn good, but the most effective way to progress in that game is to do the same shit over and over again every single day.

I will say though, I had a great experience for about 60 hours in the beginning thanks to the great world design and some 50 more good hours sprinkled throughout the rest.

You don't need to grind though to play the story and exploration. You only need to farm artifacts when you want to get all 36 stars in the Abyss every two weeks, which isn't necessary or connected at all to the story.

You can literally play the whole game with the characters you get for free if you only want to experience the story.
