Great start to the day, spiderweb right in the face. Mr Woof of course trotts happily underneath all such problems and had no idea what my problem was.

Was it an orb weaver? We had a very stubborn one that kept building webs across the front path

It was too dark to see, but probably. Orb weavers regularly take down and rebuild their webs just to be extra tricky - I almost never run into them when I do a 4am walk, but a few hours later there seems to be more risk. With the notable exception of the time one built a web fully blocking the path which is the only exit from my property.

They’re beautiful spiders, but not so lovely when you’re wearing one on your face on the way to work
