I've seen many liberals discuss historical and political topics using fictional stories such as LOTR and Star Wars as the base of their arguments.

They haven't actually read the books. Just seen the movies. We are waiting for more fantasy book series to be turned into super-successful movie franchises, so liberals can expand their repertoire of metaphors.
