I have a Merkur Futur, Astra 'superior platinum' blades, and use Proraso shaving soap (it's the best I've tried so far), along with a block of alum as a post-shave treatment. You can get a box of 100 blades for about $10-$20 (any place charging more than $20 is ripping you off), which works out to $.10-.20/blade, and you can reasonably get 3 shaves out of a single blade. A block of shaving soap should last >1 year.
If you really want to get off into the weeds, you can get a really nice straight razor for $200+. But if shaving with a disposable razor is like playing a casual sim game on your phone, and a safety razor is classic Doom on "Hurt Me Plenty" skill level, then a straight razor is like Elden Ring with stick drift, sticky buttons, and a dying battery in your controller.
