Ah dang it. That's pretty frustrating, for sure. I had one once like that and found I eventually started just washing the dishes by hand and using it to just do the rinse in hot water. I always had to make sure I opened the door immediately after the cycle ended or the water wouldn't evaporate either and I'd end up hand drying too. Stupid appliances that are supposed to make things easier but don't!
I know right 😩 If handwashing wasn’t such an issue for me I’d just not bother with the machine
