Yeah I'm going patient gamer with this one. Partially it's because I've not enjoyed the combat in other Larian games, even the critically acclaimed D:OS2. More more of an old school RtwP fan like the original 2 Baldurs Gate games.

However I'm a huge RPG fan so I think the dynamism I've heard about in this one's plot will win me over.

I was also a little turned off by DOS2, mainly because it felt like every decision was hugely pivotal to the story outcome, and sometimes it was nearly impossible to get the “good” outcome. BG3 is more forgiving, but is similar. There are more cutscenes, the story is better, and the audio effects on casting spells actually helped my enjoyment a lot. Someone bought the game for me and I really didn’t think I would like it, 200 hours later I’m a big fan.

Eldritch Blast really earned its name, I love the way the spell sounds in that game

I can’t remember what it sounds like, will have to fire it up! My favorite was Shadowheart healing. There’s a perfect amount of reverb and echo on it. Everything just sounds…powerful.
