Hey everyone, I've been a long time photographer on a hiatus. Ever since learning about the existence of EQ mounts I have been excited to get back into photography and try the astro side of it.

I have a 300mm f/2.8 lens for my DSLR and am wondering if that focal length is any good. Thanks!

I've had my eyes on the new EQ-AL55i Pro for that reason.

I've been attending my local astronomy club since I posted this. Everyone has been saying my lens should be totally fine and one person showed me this website: https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/

Perfect! Local astronomy clubs are definitely an amazing resource. I'm relatively new to the hobby so would definitely go by their experience.

Happy shooting and don't forget to share!
