Not surprising. Known commodity with improvements plus people have been waiting for ES6 for ages. Also there aren’t a ton of big open world adventure games being released right now that gives the same kind of experience. People want escapism and games like ES and Baldurs Gate are great for that.

Another thing to bring up for ancient greybeards like me, Oblivion is almost 20 years old. There's an entire generation of gamers who have never played Oblivion and are now getting their first time experience.
