Nuclear winter is more about dimming than cooling.
Or in other words, it wouldn't offset temperatures that much, but would negatively impact plant growth/farming and thereby lead to global food shortages.
Psh, tell that to this totally legimate source claiming that nuclear winter and global warming will cancel each other out it.
