Funny meme but there is no circumstance where doctors discuss pricing with patients unless it's an insurance company denying services. The bill for a hospital stay comes from the administrators of the hospital, typically via mail, after the hospital encounter has completed.
USAer here. I visited an ER and they put an IV in me that I didn’t need and only removed it when they got my card info.
Oh, I went into an ER, got accused of farming for opiates, which I don't like (the drug, or the accusation,) then had a nurse attempt to stop me from leaving the room to sign a "Treatment" document, i.e., a "Bill."
I'm not a violent person, but that was one of the moments in my life I almost started swinging. Especially at the condescending, accusatory doctor.
You mean several bills come in at varying intervals months after the visit. They never make it easy.
The suggested strategy is to request an itemized list of charges, then dispute from there.
You know, like a true Red Blooded American Capitalist.
The first sentence is true, the second sarcasm.
