It was refreshing to experience a game that had a mature, complex and multifaceted story that seemed to understand its audience was adults. Are there any more games like this?

The Witcher 3 (and the Witcher books if you're into reading!), the story is awesome and adult-oriented.

The Walking Dead by Telltale/Skybound, it's more of an interactive movie, but if you're into that, the story is great.
