I've heard that Disney made the game harder to make it so you had to rent it multiple times.

Did studios get a cut of game rentals? I don't actually know how that worked

No idea. It was just something I heard, like I said. I imagine that even if they don't get a cut, they could market it to blockbuster as being designed for repeat rental.

EDIT: so I looked it up. They made it intentionally hard so you couldn't finish it on a rental and would be more likely to buy the cartridge.
