Neighbor harassed my landlord until he made me cut all this natural growth down. Look like a downgrade to anyone else?

it might look better if you remove the chopped grass but, yea, it sucks ass. i will never understand the obsession with cut grass. it would make more sense if people did stuff on their lawns and tall grass was actively a hindrance, but they just kinda look at it?? weird af
Yeah you're not wrong. In that way it's probably not a fair comparison, but I'm also unmotivated to do so.
The neighbors launch boats from there, but they also have a full-on in-ground pool on the plateau above this one lol. Nobody swims in this lake, so I have no idea what the beach is for other than not having to do maintenance on the landscaping (valid).
