No it's because of people who view coding as a chore to pay the bills outnumbering those who code for the joy of it

Most of the devs I've tier 3'd for across even Fortune 500 companies are almost all disconnected, uninterested, and just wanted a career with no heavy lifting. If a dev is actually passionate and good, they don't last long in those environments
