ThePantser and the other commenter are making the choice to dehumanize their enemy. I don't understand the difference you're trying to distinguish.

Nazis: "These aren't people because they were never people."

ThePantser: "These aren't people anymore because of choices they made."

One could argue that it's heavy-handed or dangerous or something, but it's not the same logic.

Trump and his ilk are dehumanizing immigrants, people who made a choice.

If your point is that Trump is also dehumanizing others, you won't find disagreement with me. I don't take it as a refutation of my point. I think I've made my stance quite clear and I'll leave it here.
