Do we know if @newpipe will support adding federated music or podcast catalogues from @funkwhale , @mirlo , @jamcoop @service @faircamp and the likes?

@funkwhale

What I was thinking about is the kind integrations for Soundcloud and PeerTube, which already exist in PeerTube.

Plugging another music catalogue (API) doesn't seem impossible.

With music you don't just talk about playlists or feeds, but mainly about releases, either singles or albums with some time 1 "CD" or sometimes more.

But I really just want to browse a Funkwhale et al. instance from NewPipe.

I'm aware you meant music. But from a technical perspective, what's the difference between a podcast audio file delivered via RSS and a music audio file delivered via RSS?

I'm saying that the apps and standards are already there, if you use them, you get all that for free, even if they were not intended for music.

the main issue is album representation within the rss feed, multiple artist representation (what we call artist credit in musicbrainz and funkwhale) and how to share musicbrainz ids in the feed. Feel free to join the linked discussion and propose an implementation if you want to
