Void 1.1 is a game that has passed through a few hands trying to revive it, but is more or less dead. I was always fascinated by it though because in the early 2000s I thought it had some minis better than the Warhammer 40k counterparts at the time. I was browsing eBay and found and original 2003 box set for pretty cheap and snapped it up. The rulebook is missing but that's alright since I already own a copy I got cheap from NobleKnight.

The back of the box shows off the content. Aside from the rulebook, everything else is there.

Super rare original Void plastic minis, still on the sprues.

Flame and blast templates.

The starter painting book is brief but gives a decent overview. Being from the early 2000s it gives tips like using regular thinned paints as washes and underpainting red with yellow. Good tips, but not what you normally see in official guides these days.

A few alternate color scheme ideas are provided. I'm definitely torn on how I want to paint these guys up. Time to ponder until I hopefully paint them next month.

Oh those guys fit right in there. Took me a minute to find them. Thats a shame those are really good models. You're probably spot on, their middle ground of 3rd party minis for WH40k but with their own optional ruleset you can use probably lead to their downfall.
